Chat Log
A chat log is the text (or digital) record of an online chat session. A chat log contains the entire conversation between two parties engaging in a chat session using such programs as
MSN, AOL, Yahoo, or ICQ chat programs, to name a few.
Chat log recording programs are useful to investigators interested in analyzing the communications between users of these chat programs to identify unfaithful spouses, criminal behavior, or illegal activity.
