A cell phone tap is any device or service which has the ability to intercept a cellular phone conversation for purposes of listening in or recording that conversation.
While similar in purpose and function to a traditional hard-line phone tap, a cell phone tap is more difficult to place or detect due to the wireless nature of cellular telephones.
